It's a great day for the Watkins family. Thomas Watkins, a senior golfer at Madison Central signed a golf scholarship with Ole Miss this morning. Thomas is the reigning State 5A Champion.

Randy, You know I was very suspect about not overseeding the greens this year at the Farm. However, Jay and his staff have paid close attention to their condition and have acted quickly at the onset of any problem. With the exception of low areas on a couple of greens where the dormant grass has just about worn out from foot traffic the remainder of the greens are terrific. The Staff roll the greens which make them perfect. I hope the really tough weather ahead in the next few months will not deteriorate them any further. I am less skeptical now! Thanks!

Please pass along my congratulations to Thomas on his accepting of a scholarship to play for Ernest at Ole Miss! How fast time has flown from watching Thomas on the motorcycle at Whisper in 1998. Who would have thought he'd be playing Division I in the SEC. Good genes!!
